Waste-Conscious & Plastic-Free Approach

In line with Sofitel’s committed luxury to reducing waste, we have eliminated single-use plastics from our meeting room set-up. Glass water bottles and refillable stations are provided, while digital signage, agendas, and presentations are encouraged to minimize paper use. Waste segregation is available in our Green Meeting Rooms to support effective recycling initiatives.

Our culinary team curates menus that balance refinement with responsibility. Whenever possible, ingredients are locally sourced and seasonal, with plant-forward menu options available to help lower environmental impact. Portion-conscious catering helps reduce food waste, which is further managed through responsible composting programs.

Zero Food Waste to Landfill Commitment

As part of our Green Meetings commitment, Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk actively works to eliminate food waste sent to landfill, supporting a more responsible and circular approach to events. All food waste generated during Green Meetings is carefully segregated and measured, then diverted from landfill through our partnership with RELOOP, a certified waste management specialist. Organic waste is transformed into nutrient-rich compost, which is returned to local farms, helping to regenerate soil, support local agriculture, and close the loop within the food system.

Located 10 minutes from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and downtown, Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk is well-connected to Dubai’s efficient and eco-friendly RTA public transportation network. Combining the Dubai Metro and bus services for convenient access, meeting attendees can take advantage of public transportation to and from the hotel with connection to Dubai airport.

The nearest metro connection is Dubai Healthcare City Metro Station (Green Line), with onward connectivity via RTA bus routes or a short taxi ride to the hotel. Dubai Metro offers a low-emission alternative to private vehicles, while RTA buses provide seamless last-mile connections from major districts and metro stations across the city.
